The Deep Tech Forum of India (DTFI), a Special Interest Group of SPIN Chennai, is committed to creating a robust and supportive environment where these innovations can thrive.
Our vision is to position India as a global deep tech powerhouse. We believe this can be achieved by fostering a collaborative ecosystem where entrepreneurs, researchers, mentors, and investors come together to turn bold ideas into transformative realities.
The Four Pillars of Support
The Deep Tech Forum is structured around four core pillars, each designed to provide targeted support to deep tech innovators. Through a series of invite-only round table meetings and focused initiatives, we aim to address the unique challenges of the deep tech journey—from lab to market.
1. Market Access We facilitate connections between deep tech startups and potential customers, including large corporations and government bodies. By promoting visionary procurement policies, we help innovators showcase their products and services and secure the early-adopter support needed to scale.
2. Funding Deep tech ventures require patient, high-risk capital. The forum provides a platform for startups to engage with investors who understand the long gestation periods and resource-intensive nature of this space. We work to facilitate access to funding mechanisms that support breakthrough research and development.
3. Mentoring
Our network comprises seasoned entrepreneurs, industry leaders, and technical experts. The forum facilitates peer learning and mentorship, providing startups with invaluable guidance on navigating technical hurdles, business strategies, and market dynamics.
4. Collaboration
We foster a spirit of collaboration among innovators, academia, and industry. By encouraging the sharing of knowledge and resources, we help to break down silos and build a collective voice that advocates for policies and infrastructure that benefit the entire deep tech ecosystem.
