Changing demands of the Process Improvement Professional

Competencies that may be needed to pause and propel the quality career

ABSTRACT

We, the community of process improvement professionals, shall endeavor to reflect on the trajectory of this breed of professionals that has traversed over the last decade and glean some insights out of the collective experiential perspectives.

This talk would delineate the fundamental constructs of a process improvement professional that are non-mutative, the metamorphosis of the professional competencies over the time & trends and guestimate the DNA for this professional that would help propel the career progress in this sanctimonious profession of Improvements.

Talk is predominantly germinated from the collective consciousness of seasoned and successful improvement professionals who have unconsciously treaded the path of exhilarating success in their professional life.

In essence the format of the program would be to posit the competency cluster of an improvement professional and invigorate a discussion around the same to hone the construct for the future survivability of this breed of professional, transcending the different segments of economy, be IT / Services.

Thummalapalli “Srini” Srinivas

Catalyst, Sumantrana Advisory Services

Srinivas, is an avid learner and a reflective soul. Srini has earned his masters in software engineering from BITS Pilani and pursued the exciting world of process improvement. He has then graduated into the profession of management consulting over the last two decades.

He had incepted, resurrected, and successfully lead many a consulting practices in different organization cultures. He was instrumental in setting up two marquee European ODCs in India back in 1995 in build operate and transfer mode, while working with a European Commission initiative. He had primed his leadership competencies by attending select executive education programs at Harvard Business School and Indian School of Business.

He is currently navigating Sumantrana, a boutique advisory firm that advises the tech and services firms at the intersection of human capital alignment, innovation and growth. He continues to pursue his first passion for the process improvements with equal vigor. He is SEI certified / authorized lead instructor and appraiser for CMMI and PCMM product suites respectively.
